Our top bird “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) did it again this weekend. On the very hard and turbulent Chevrainvilliers (354km) race he was the 1° fastest bird in the ZAV Federation of 907 birds … with a lead of no less than 9 minutes!

The national Jarnac race was a real tough one. The birds had to stay in the basket for 3 days. On their way back home the birds need to handle the high temperatures and the headwinds. Keeping in mind that Jarnac has a racing distance of 697km for our loft, you know that is was going to be an extremely hard race. The first birds in the province of Antwerp flew more than 11 hours! Our birds did a great job on this race and “Stella”(B16-6032171) confirmed her role as ‘prima donna’ on the long distance races in Antwerp.

Our young birds team has been unstoppable so far this season. Week after week they dominate the races. This weekend we sent them to the provincial Chevrainvilliers (354km) race. It was an extremely hard race. The youngsters had to stay in the basket for two nights. The temperate rose to above 30°C and on top of that the birds had to deal with headwinds too. Only the strongest birds could prevail, it was really a tough race for youngsters. We had again a smashing result on this Chevrainvilliers race!

This racing season has been so far one of the toughest ones the Belgian birds had to deal with the last decades. The temperatures are high week after week and the birds have to deal mostly with head winds. Luckily our pigeons seem to love these circumstances. They dominate the races week after week.

Unbeatable. Our new golden boy did it again. “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) was this weekend the fastest bird of the whole release on the tough Melun (310km) race! The birds had to deal with high temperatures and headwinds. In these circumstances “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) is probably the best bird around. He won 1° fast. Melun (310km) against 10,781 pigeons.

On the Melun (310km) race we had a spectacular result last weekend. The birds had to deal with headwinds on their way back home. Our old birds won the 1°, 2° and 3° prize. Our youngsters won even the 1°, 2°, 3°, 4°, 5°, 6°, 7° and 8° prize!

Fire power. The national Brive (704km) race was a tough one. It was that kind of race where no lucky shots could be found in the head of the result. The birds needed to fly alone, fighting against the head winds. Our first arrival crossed the sky for 10 hours and 30 minutes. Our dark hen “Stella”(B16-6032172) graciously arrived at 17:14:29. She won 1° Provincial Brive 705 birds. She was the 1° fast. Provincial Brive against 1,166 birds too (old birds + yearlings). On the national zone result she can be found as 5° against 2,640 birds. On the national level she wins 57° National Brive (704km) 9,278 pigeons.

The Ecouen (283km) promised to be an easy preparation race for the upcoming national Argenton (555km) race. It turned out to be a tough race for the pigeons. The pigeon flock was scattered right from the start. A loft of birds needed to fly home all alone. We started with the 1° prize in the yearlings result and the 2° prize in the old birds result!

The national race of the day was Chateauroux (526km). It was a very tough edition. The birds had to deal with foggy weather during a big part of their way back home. The temperature rose to almost 30°C and the birds had to cope with headwinds as well. It was a race for the real strong and smart birds.

We had another successful racing weekend. Last Saturday no less than three races were flown. In France the weather was good and the birds had to deal mostly with headwinds. In Belgium however the weather circumstances were far from perfect (dark weather) and the wind turned towards the West (tailwind). Our birds confirmed again their excellent form.

The weather circumstances were hard this weekend. The temperatures rose to 30°C and the birds had to deal with strong head winds. Our birds are known to deliver top performances in these conditions and last Saturday was another chapter to that story. After the three 2° prizes of last week, our birds were able to bring two 1° prizes and a 2° prize back home! We entered our cocks in the ZAV Federation and our hens in the Regio Mechelen federation. We sent a few hens to the national Bourges race too.

We had a great weekend. The weather circumstances were hard. Our birds showed that they are more than ready for the national racing season! As you can see we started 3 times (!) with the 2° prize.

This weekend we raced our birds on the middle distance race Melun (310km). We entered our racing hens (51 birds) in the ‘Regio Mechelen’ federation and our racing cocks (54 birds) in the ‘ZAV’ federation. The wind was blowing from the southeast. It was a smooth and rather fast race. Our birds did a good job again, they showed their condition is improving by the week. We expect them to be on their best when the national racing season starts in two weeks!

This weekend we will be present again at the famous ‘Golden Ten’ auction of sports magazine ‘De Duif’. Twenty-one of the absolute top fanciers from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, each presenting 8 (young) birds of their very best in a public auction. Interested fanciers from near and far have ample opportunity to handle and approve the pigeons, and to exchange thoughts with the sellers and eachother.

This weekend the last middle distance race of the season was flown. The weather circumstances were fantastic. The temperate rose to about 21°C. The birds had to deal with moderate to strong headwinds. It was the perfect race to see which youngsters are worth their spot in next year’s racing team!

We entered our complete team of youngsters on two different races. On both races they really crushed the competition! The velocities of the races this weekend were extremely fast! On Saturday the pigeon were blown to home because of the strong wind from the Southwest. We still managed to win some great results. More about these races you can find in other newsflashes. The tailwinds on Sunday were even stronger. The fastest birds of the Noyon (208km) race reached an average velocity of 2,200 m/min! This speed is equal to 132 km/h!
