Many top prizes on middle and long distance races

The month July is in Belgium the most intensive one for pigeon fanciers. Every week there are at least two national races and in the meantime the young birds are ready as well to participate to the middle distance races.

Last week we entered birds on two national races: Argenton (555km) and Limoges (672km). The races were rather fast due to the tailwind. The temperatures rose to 25°C - 30°C which gave the races a harder touch. Our pigeons did again what they have been doing so far this season : winning top prizes !

We will start with the national Limoges (672km) race. Our pigeons won the following results:

09/07/2016 Limoges (672km)
Club St. Job 102 yearlings: 1-5-8-12-…
Provincial 565 yearlings: 2-10-24-34-65-66-…  8/19

Club St. Job 84 old birds: 1-6-…
Provincial 512 old birds: 6-30-…  3/7

Our first arrival was the checkered hen B15-6026226. She is one of our favourite hens! Her father is an inbreeding product  to “Mambo”(B08-6144041). “Mambo” was coupled to his daughter “Isabel”(B10-6346646). Her mother is B14-6175241. She was in 2015 one of our finest racing hens. She won for instance on three national races in a row: 3x 1° in the club, 3x top 10 provincial and 3x top 100 national! Of course we had great expectations for this racing season. Unfortunately she did not return from the first middle distance race. It was very windy that day and we are sure that she crashed against the high tension wires that day. We hope that her daughter B15-6026226 will become a true successor of her mother!

Talented hen B15-6026226

Our second arrival was our blue cock B14-6175010. He is really a bird that ‘you love to hate’.  He is a the same time our most favourite and most annoying bird. When we release our widowers for a training around the loft, he easily flies 30 to 60 minutes longer than the other birds. As a youngster he was for instane very early from a short distance race, he should have won with a few minutes lead the first prize. Instead, he just sat a few minutes outside, just because he wanted to (for the record: he won eventually the 3° prize against 1,139 pigeons). He is never tired after the race, even after a tough 700km race, he always looks the same. He is by the way a half-brother to “Aladdin”(B09-6248081), 1° fast. National Bourges (479km) 64,621 pigeons.

Our third arrival was the blue hen B15-6026019. Her father is an inbreeding product  to “Mambo”(B08-6144041). He is bred off “Mambo” x his own daughter “Delphine”(B11-6282004). “Delphine” has bred some outstanding birds together with “Elektro”(B08-6174630). The mother of B15-6026019 is our top hen “Doha”(B12-6196004). “Doha” is a daughter to “Dina”(B08-6144028) and therefore a half-sister to “Jonge Panter”(B09-6248211), 2° fast. National Bourges (479km) 64,621 pigeons. The father of “Doha” is a full brother to “Aladdin”(B09-6248081), 1° fast. National Bourges (479km) 64,621 pigeons.

"Doha"(B12-6196004) won a.o.:

Our fourth pigeon was B14-6175186. This beautiful dark white flight cock is a very skilled racer but has already had his part of bad luck throughout his racing career. As a yearling he returned twice a week later after a very bad race. This year he broke his leg on the first middle distance race of the season. He recovered from this injury but from now on he has to carry his electronic clocking device on his other leg. Despite all these negative events, he already flew some very nice results. His parents are both very good racers. The father of B14-6175186 is “Kargo”(B11-6282007). You will probably not know him yet, but he was an exceptional racer. He is now a part of our breeding loft. The mother of B14-6175186 is a direct daughter to “Shakira”(B10-6052293).

“Kargo”(B11-6282007) won a.o.:
1° Noyon (208km) 623 p.

"Kargo"(B11-6282007) has got great racing records

Another race this weekend was the national Argenton (555km) race. We entered only hens on this race. They did again a very good job!

Our pigeons won the following results on the Argenton race:

09/07/2016 Argenton (555km)

Our first arrival was  our top yearling hen “Zara”(B15-6026038). This year she already won 1° Bourges (479km) 377 pigeons / 18° National Bourges 19,889 pigeons! Now she came 3 seconds short to win again the first prize in the club. On the national level she wins the 47° against 12,449 pigeons! This bird is once again a grandchild to as well “Barco”(B01-6387350) and “Elektro”(B08-6174630). Her father is a son to “Elektro”, her mother is a daughter to “Barco”. Her parents have already bred some outstanding birds in the past.

Our third arrival was the blue hen B15-6026070. She has been flying very consistently this year, she never disappoints! B15-6026070 is a half-sister to our famous hen “La Bomba”(B10-6052045).

Our fourth arrival was the checkered hen B15-6026284. She is a direct daughter to our superstar “Mustang”(B14-6175237), 1° fast. National Chateauroux (526km) 33,018 pigeons! It is not the first time that this hen flew an early prize! She is a great prospect for the future.

The third race this weekend was the middle distance race Souppes-sur-Loing (357km). Also on this race our pigeons won different early prizes. It was for our youngsters their first middle distance race of the season. There was an upcoming tailwind. Most of the early prizes can be found at the longest distances. We have one of the shortest distances in our federation. Nevertheless, our youngsters defended their honor really well.

Our first arrival was the checkered yearling hen B15-6026341. She wins the 1° prize against 427 pigeons. As a youngster she only participated to the races of the ‘Tour of Belgium’. The system of racing is the following. Each weekend during four weeks the birds are released at a completely different location. It could be at the seaside, which is completely in the western part of Belgium, or in Limburg, which is completely in the eastern part of Belgium. The racing distance is between 75 and 175km.  Of course, this is an interesting to race young birds but racing on the national level is completely different. The yearlings, only followed the ‘Tour of Belgium’ program as a youngster, need some time to pick up the rhythm of the traditional racing system. But this was not the case for the checkered hen B15-6026341. Right from the start of the season she was very consistent. We think she can turn out into a top racing hen! The father of B15-6026341 is “Santos”(B08-6174626). He is himself a very good breeder and a half-brother to our famous pigeon “Elektro”(B08-6174630). The mother of B15-6026341 is a daughter to “Beckham”(B01-6387174) and a granddaughter to “Barco”(B01-6387350).

The checkered hen B15-6026341 won the 1° prize on Souppes-sur-Loing

Our first youngster was the checkered hen B16-6032067. She wins the 6° prize against 981 birds She is a direct daughter to our phenomenon “Elektro”(B08-6174630). Her mother is “Delphine”(B11-6282004). This means she is a full sister to “Samsung”(B15-6026082), 1° fast. Souppes (357km) 9,294 pigeons!

Our first old bird was the checkered hen B14-6175324. Just as B15-6026341, our first prize winner from this Souppes-sur-Loing race, she was only raced on the ‘Tour of Belgium’ as a youngster. B14-6175324 is a grandchild to our two superbreeders “Barco”(B01-6387350) and “Elektro”(B08-6174630).

Next week there are again two national races: Jarnac (695km) and Chateauroux (526km). Our youngsters will be probably shipped to the provincial Gien (410km) race.
