Again top prizes on rainy national Argenton race

If you ask people to describe the Belgian weather in one word, they would often say: rainy. This summer seems to be perfectly matching this description. The weather is very unstable and makes it hard for the pigeons. Different lofts are already ‘knock-out’ for the rest of the season. Luckily we have always tried to breed birds that can perform in difficult weather circumstances.

Last weekend the national Argenton (555km) race took place. For this race we entered a combination of cocks and hens. For the cocks it was their second national race of the season. In the month of July they will fly national races between 600 and 700km and we hope they will be at their best during this month!  Our pigeons did again a very good job on this tough race. The birds had to deal with several rain and thunder showers on their way back home. Especially in the middle (where we live) and the East of Belgium the weather was very unstable.

Our pigeons won the following results:

25/06/2016 Argenton (555km)
Club St. Job 365 yearlings: 2-4-5-7-10-11-…  21/32
Provincial 2,326 yearlings: 25-28-34-60-68-70-…  21/32
National 18,363 yearlings: 100-124-152-249-296-302-…  21/32

Club St. Job 160 old birds: 1-2-11-12-17-…  10/18
Provincial 1,326 old birds: 7-14-69-93-…  10/18
National 13,629 old birds: 29-84-…  10/18

Our first arrival was the blue cock B14-6175082. He wins 29° National Argenton (555km) against 13,629 pigeons. He is a bird that apparently seems to perform really well in rainy weather conditions. Last year on the catastrophic Chateauroux (527km) race he was our first arrival too. He won on this race 68° National Chateauroux (527km) against 5,868 pigeons. B14-6175082 is a half-brother to “Aladdin”(B09-6248081), 1° fast. National Bourges (479km) against 64,621 pigeons. On the father’s side this bird is closely related to “Zorro”(B15-6026003), 3rd National Ace-pigeon KBDB Middle Distance Youngsters.

B14-6175082 was our first arrival from the national Argenton race

Our second arrival was the beautiful checkered hen B14-6175181. As a yearling she already won a national top 100 position on the Tulle (657km) race. We think she is on her best on the national races between 600-700km. This year she did not fly this kind of races yet. In the month of July she will be probably entered twice on national races of her favourite distance. But now she already succeeded in flying a national position on the Argenton race.

B14-6175181 won a.o.:
74° National Tulle (657km) 8,621 p.
84° National Argenton (555km) 13,629 p.

43° National z. Argenton (555km) 790 p. (other race)
104° National z. Bourges (479km) 6,382 p.

The father of B14-6175181 is our top racer “Lotus”(B12-6196084). He was one of our very best racers on the long distance. At the end of 2015 we moved him to the breeding loft. The hen B14-6175181 was the only baby he bred for the races during his racing career.  We hope his 2016 youngsters will be of the same quality as B14-6175181!

"Lotus"(B12-6196084) won a.o.:
1° Tulle (657km) 149 p.
2° Provincial Tulle (657km) 847 p.

Top racer "Lotus"(B12-6196084)

Our first yearling was the blue hen B15-6026063. She is the nest-sister to “Fox”(B15-6026062). He is the first nominated bird of our middle distance team. Last week he won for instance 2° Melun (310km) against 505 birds. These siblings are grandchildren to “La Bomba”(B10-6052045) and “Joker”(B12-6196314).

Our second yearling was the blue cock B15-6026030. He is a son to our top hen “Helga”(B10-6052082).  She has got some excellent racing records herself  but has also bred some very good racers! Her most remarkable baby is probably “Mo Chuisle”(B14-6175436). She was one of the most sensational birds in the 2015 edition of the famous South Africa Million Dollar Pigeon Race.

"Helga"(B10-6052082) was a great racing hen and is now important on the breeding loft

“Mo Chuisle”(B14-6175436) won a.o.:
1st winner Knock-Out Competition (US$ 25,000)
1st Belgian Ace-pigeon Hot Spot Races

Our third yearling was the dark hen B15-6026021. Her father is “Lukaku”(B09-6248986), who is a full brother to “Jonge Panter”(B09-6248211). “Jonge Panter” won 2° fast. National Bourges (479km) against 64,621 pigeons (after a loftmate). “Lukaku” is a very good breeder and has bred some outstanding racers. The mother of B15-6026021 is “Strong Lady”(B11-6282020). She won herself a national top 100 position on Limoges (675km). She is the nest-sister to our top hen “Super Lady”(B11-6282019).

Our fourth yearling was the checkered hen B15-6026103. After an injury in the beginning of the season, this was her first national race. She immediately wins the 7° prize against 365 pigeons in our strong club St. Job so we are delighted about her ‘comeback race’! She is a granddaughter to our famous breeders “Barco”(B01-6387350) and “Elektro”(B08-6174630).

Next week the national race La Souterraine (593km) will be flown. We will enter about 20 racing hens.
