10 birds will be sold: 8 youngsters from the topbreeders and 2 top racers.

Past Saturday the 13th training race in the Sun City Million Dollar Pigeon Race, South Africa took place. The weather was hot, 34°C.

Super star “Power Puff”(B08-6144242) was again in the top of the race. Now she won the 21° against 3,689 birds.

Her results are really fantastic. Her best results are the following(updated until 21st December 2008):

He won him the 11° provincial 1,724 p. and the 47° national zone against 3,891 p. from a very difficult Gueret(586km). “Frutos” is a son from super racer “Bosko”(B03-6287052) and a grandson to new basic breeder “Barco”(B01-6387350). The mother of “Power Puff” is “Vichy I”(B05-6234216), a bird with a lot of top prizes. The best results from “Vichy I”:

It’s pity that "Power Puff" lost almost an hour last week, in a short distance race of 79km. Most likely because she wasn’t clocked(registered with her electronic ring). Or else she would be the leading Ace-pigeon together with the bird from Koopman!

Another bird, “Surprise”(B08-6144354) won also in the Sun City Race 2008-2009 on one of the races the 1° prize against 3,984 pigeons!

And “Cocktail”(B08-6144399) is improving week by week in Sun City. She is now already ranked as 5th bird in the Belgian Ace-pigeon competition. She is a full sister to “Milkshake” who was crowned in January 2008 3rd Belgian Ace-pigeon Sun City Million Dollar Race! She is also a sister to “Expresso”(B06-6270067), 2nd Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen in 2008. Another sister, "Safari"(B07-6221282), was the fastest bird in Union Antwerpen from Pithiviers(373km) against 1,254 p. .A family full of aces!

For the moment we have 2 birds(“Power Puff” and “Cocktail”) in the top 5 of the Belgian Ace-pigeons! About 500 Belgian birds were entered!

We hope of course they will continue like this.

Yesterday the 3rd Hot Spot Race(+/- 300km) took place in the Sun City Million Dollar Pigeon Race.

And yes, super younster "Power Puff" was again there. She won the 66° prize against 3,736 p. She lost hardly a minute! She is coming fantasticly but she has one little problem. She doesn't go in the loft that well. When she arrives in a group, she always goes in as one of the lastest birds. We hope that will improve as the distance becomes further.

Her best results so far: 22, 26, 29, 37, 61, 66, 67, 92, 176,... against an average of 4,000 birds!

Normally she would have been 1st of 2nd general Ace-pigeon with the results. But something strange happened last Wednesday. The birds were entered for a short training flight, just 79km. Almost all the pigeons arrived at the same time. But not "Power Puff". She arrived 50 minutes later. On such a short distance, that is not normal! Especially when you take a look at her present results. We suspect that she wasn't clocked(registrated with her electronic ring). Now it will be very difficult for her to become 1st Ace-pigeon. She is now flying with a 'handicap' of 50 minutes.

It is a pity, but such things can happen...

She won a.o.: 22, 26, 29, 37, 61, 67, 92, 176,... and this against an average of 4,100 birds! She remains the leader in the Belgian Ace-pigeon ranking. In the international ranking she will enter the top 4.

In the Sun City Million Dollar race our bird "Power Puff"(B08-6144242) keeps on performing on a very high level.

She flew until now no less than 7 times in the top 100. She won a.o.: 26, 29, 37, 61, 67, 92, 176,... and this against an average of 4,100 birds!

I just won 2nd Champion Bird at the Texas Gusher race after 5 races: 150, 200, 300, 200, 300 miles, multiply by 1.6x to convert to km.

The bird 08-AU-16002 is 100% from Vercammen birds.  

I also had 4th Champion, which is 25% Vercammen, and 13th Champion bird which is 50% Vercammen from 2004-Belg-6058471, granddaughter Yasmine.

I have attached the pedigree of 08-16002 & 08-16055 and picture of parents for 16002.   Thank you again for the great birds that you sent me with Ad Schaerlaeckens!  And thank you Ad for recommending Vercammen to me!

Our bird "Power Puff"(B08-6144242) won the 26° prize against approximately 4,000 birds. She's currently one of the best pigeons in Sun City. She won different times in the top 100. She won a.o.: 26, 29, 67, 92, 176,... and this against an average of 4,200 birds!

Today there was a preliminary race in the Sun City Million Dollar Race, South Africa.

Our bird "Surprise"(B08-6144354) won the 1° prize against 3,984 birds!

Her father is a direct son to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). Her mother is "La Sahkra"(B05-6234028). She has got some nice records and is from the best lines of "Beckham"(B01-6387174), "Lucy"(B00-6249033) and "Petra"(B95-6300210).

Most of you have already seen the “references” page on our website. But now we would like to present you some special results. The so called one loft races. One loft races are becoming more and more popular. Here are some winners that won with descendants of Vercammen birds.

USA: stars and stripes

The recent years 3 one loft races have been won here with descendants of our birds.

Mr. Dinga won the 1° prize in the Texas Gusher One Loft Race. The father was 100% Vercammen. This cock was also father to the 1st Ace-pigeon in the Florida Fly For Life Race! This Vercammen bird  is a full brother to the father of “Vichy I”(B05-6234216). The mother of this cock is “Sherryl”(B03-6287192).

Mr. Banzon was the winner in the Mercedes Classic One Loft Race. This winner had 100% Vercammen blood in its veins! It was a grandson to super breeder “Barco”(B01-6387350).

Mr. Rubin won the famous and prestigious Frank Violla Race. It was not a real one loft race, several lofts were involved. Close to 2,500 birds were involved. He sent only 7. He won 1, 15, 33,… Descendants of the “Panter”(B86-6056506) line!

Winner Thailand

Mr. Apichartpraclup won the Thailand Open One Loft Race. He won the Kings Cup. For a Thai pigeon fancier winning this is the highest they can reach in their pigeon career… The price money this bird won was no less than 1,000,000 Bath. The bird was sold for 1.200.000 Bath!

The bird was a descendant of “Aruna”(B02-6058088).

Barco goes China

A daughter to superbreeder “Barco”(B01-6387350) won the 2° prize in the Nanjing One Loft Race. It was a very hard race. During all the training races lots of birds were lost.

Own successes in one loft races 2008

This year we participated to a few one loft races. Some of them are already finished, some of them are still running.

We entered some birds in the Shengshi One Loft Race in Changchun, China. It were very tough races. They started with about 5,000 pigeons. At the end race only 500 birds returned. We had some very good results there. In one of the preliminary races B08-6144409 the 1° prize against 4,670 birds! This was a grandchild to “Iron Lady”(B97-6145223) and “Vanessa”(B98-6350130). On the very hard final race we had 1° and 5° Belgian bird! And this against a lot of big names!

Birds from us are also flying in the Eijerkamp One Loft Race in Beijing, China. This one loft race is still running, but the birds did it already well there. For example: B08-6144290 won from one of the races the 4° prizes against +/- 5,000 birds. This young bird is a grandchild to “Barco”(B01-6387350) and a half-sister to “Picasso”(B07-6221319). Off the record: It’s once again “Barco” in a top bird its pedigree. He’s such a fantastic breeder!

We also participated in the FCI Thailand One Loft Race in Bangkok, Thailand. Also here the final race hasn’t come yet. We have two very well performing birds over there: B08-6144380 and B08-6144422. They have both been several times in the very top of the race. Their results are really excellent! The one bird is a full sister to young starlet “Thunderbolt”(B08-6144141). The other bird is a direct child to “Sherryl”(B03-6287192), who is mother to 1st prize winners in One Loft Races(see above) but also on our loft. “Sherryl” is mother to a.o. “Dora”(B06-6270081) and grandmother to “Vichy I”(B05-6234216).

And the famous Sun City Million Dollar Race in Sun City, South Africa just started. The pigeons are just flying short distance races. But one of our birds, a daughter to “Vichy I”(B05-6234216) won already 3 times in top 100 against about 4,500 birds!

We told you already about Kris Cleirbaut, the “magic man” from Bonheiden. But now we’ll tell you the full and complete story. About 4 years ago, he started focusing on the national races from 450-600km. Before his main goal were the short distance races. Therefore he was looking for birds that could add “power” to his racing team. This led him to our loft. He paid us a visit and took some birds with him to Bonheiden.

Now, anno 2008, the results are really astonishing. We’ll give you an overview of some top pigeons of Cleirbaut that contain the Vercammen bloodline.

1st national Ace-pigeon Ave Regina(beste duif algemeen)

24° national Gueret 12,587 p.

His father is “Dark 09”(B05-6452509), a 100% Vercammen bird. He is a direct son to our superbreeder “Bacardi”(B03-6484744).

We wrote the above-mentioned text in the simple present tense. But actually it needed to be in the simple past tense. As Kris Cleirbaut auctioned all his old birds this autumn. Due to his busy job obligations, Kris is a successful baker, he needed to reduce his racing team.

We were present at his sale. We were able to purchase 2 of his top birds. Kris Cleirbaut advised us these birds.

The first bird we bought is “Broken Panter”(B06-6173123). He is a full brother to top racer “Black Widow”(B07-6282339) who was sold for an enormous amount of money to China(13,200 Euro). So he is a 50% Vercammen bird. “Broken Panter” did not participate at the races because of a broken foot(That’s why Kris called him “Gebroken Poot”).

He is already father to “Liana”(B08-6116829) who won:

1° Pithiviers 1,728 p.

58° national Argenton 25,583 p.

The second bird we bought is “Mitu Girl”(B06-6415420). She is a daughter to our own “Mitu”(B02-6058048). “Mitu” was paired against “Sister Blue”(B04-6356344). “Sister Blue” is mother to “Lady Azora”(B06-6173129).

1° provincial Bourges 1,371 p.(very hot and wind on the head)

34° national Bourges 11,875 p.

“Mitu Girl” is also a half-sister to our own super breeding hen “Luna”(B04-6058148). “Luna” won herself 1° s.-national La Souterraine(593km) and is mother to “Rolex”(B06-6270302) and “Favoriet”(B05-6234169).

As you may know, Houben J.L.N.(Itegem) have got some excellent Vercammen breeding hens on their loft. Today we'll tell you some more about two of them. It are "Tiffany"(B96-3121904) and "Hillary"(B96-3121913).

Why do the band numbers start with a "3" and noth with a "6"(the birds from Antwerp always start with a "6")? A pigeon fancier from West-Flanders got eggs from our loft from the very best ones. He ringed the birds with his own rings(that why the numbers begin with a "3"). Due to his very busy job, he needed to stop racing. Houben knew this and bought all these birds.

Let's start with "Tiffany". "Tiffany" is close family to our "Deco"(B01-6387351). "Deco" is as you know a very good breeder at our loft. His most famous child is probably "Porto"(B03-6287006), 4th national Ace-pigeon KBDB middle distance.

"Tiffany" bred fantasticly at the loft of Houben. Already in 1998 she became mother to their most famous bird of the 90's, "Pinocchio"(B98-6210287).

1° S.-national Argenton 9,864 p.

5° Provincial Chateauroux 1,661 p.

She's also grandmother to top birds like "Goldwing"(1° s.-nat. La Souterraine 4,573 p.), "Dandy"(9° s.-nat. Vierzon 13,825 p.), "El Dorado" and much more.

The combination Deno-Herbots(Leefdaal) has an excellent descendant of "Tiffany" on their loft. Her name is "Nadia"(B05-2147652). Her records.

The national championships of the KBDB have been published.

Our cock "Favoriet"(B05-6234169) ended up as 9th national Ace-pigeon KBDB long distance. He was the only bird from the province Antwerp that was ranked as ace. The birds from the province Antwerp have to fly in average 100km more than the fore fly of Belgium. So "Favoriet" had to fly much more kilometres.

This year he won a.o. 1° provincial Brive(707km) against 1,253 pigeons and 9° provincial Cahors(776km).

His half-brother, "Rolex"(B06-6270302), was this year 1st Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen middle distance. Also in 2007 he was 1st Ace-pigeon in Union Antwerpen.

They come both from superbreeding hen "Luna"(B04-6058148). "Luna" is on her turn is a daughter to "Mitu"(B02-6058048).

Do not forget that 1° national Blois 2008 against 66,762 pigeons is partly from these lines!

Mr. Elton Dinga sent us an e-mail yesterday. He entered birds for the Espo's East Coast Challenge. The preparation races were very hard. Lots of birds got lost. Mr. Dinga could only participate with one bird.

This single bird won the 4° prize on the end race, a 350 miles race(560km). He lost the first prize by 7 (!) seconds.

The father is 100% Hok Jos Vercammen. It's a very good breeding cock. It already bred for Mr. Dinga: In 2006 a child was 1st Average Speed Winner at Fly for Life race in 2006. And in 2007 another child won the 1° prize at Texas Gusher One Loft Race, 300 miles (480km).

What's the pedigree of this cock? Well, he's a direct son to "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). At our own loft "Sherryl" bred excellently. She's mother to top birds like "Dora"(B06-6270081) and "Clearwater"(B04-6058195). She's a.o. grandmother to national zone winner "Vichy I"(B05-6234216).

Gueret was the last race of the season. Time to make up a balance of the season 2008.

The final championships of Union Antwerpen were published. Who doesn’t know Union Antwerpen? Famous writers describe it as the “university of pigeon sport” or the “cream of the crop”. They say it’s the only place where the competition there is so strong.

Whole the province of Antwerp(in Antwerp +/- 7,500 fanciers) can play there. The top of Antwerp meets there.

Union Antwerpen has been dominated during the years by illustrious names. Names like Huyskens-Van Riel, Gebr. De Scheemaecker, Havenith,  Jef Hermans, Rhijn-Kloeck, Havermaet, Lou Wouters, Staf Martens,… sounds very familiar.

Also nowadays famous names are playing in Union Antwerpen. Just to name a few: Houben, Engels, Dirk Van Dijck, Van Hove-Uytterhoeven, Cleirbaut, Roodhooft, Geerinckx, Van Beirendonck, Janssens, Berckmoes, Geerts, Leo Heremans, Van Elsacker-Jepsen, Walter De Rijck, Karel Meulemans,…

There is an general(over all) championship. How you can win this? Well, there are 3 disciplines.

1. The races from 250-450km. There are 13 races. This is with old birds, yearlings and young birds.

2. The races from 450-800km. There are 19 races. This is also with old birds, yearlings and youngsters.

3. And there are also the overnight races(Barcelona, Perpignan, etc.).

With this system, it’s very important to have birds that can perform every week. Pigeons that fly well during only 3-4 weeks are useless in this system. You need strong, all-round birds.

You can only win “points” with your 3 first nominated birds.

We ended on the 2nd place ! This is very good, as we didn’t enter birds on the overnight races! So we can’t earn points on this discipline.

Also in 2007 we were on the 2nd position!

We had 1st Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen middle distance with “Rolex”(B06-6270302).

2nd Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen with “Expresso”(B06-6270067).

3rd Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen with young starlet “Picasso”(B07-6221319).

Two more ace-pigeons with the yearlings: “Kleine Prins”(B07-6221063) and B07-6221192.

The youngsters did it also very good. We had 2 aces there. One of them was B08-6144092!

Because of the bad weather this weekend, the birds from Gueret(590km) were released on Monday. So the birds stayed in Gueret during 4 nights.

We entered young and old birds. With the young birds we had no exspectations at all. We stopped the best young birds. The "rest" flew Gueret. It were birds that had no experience at all(only one 290km race before Gueret) or did not fly well on previous races.

Our old birds flew in the strong club St. Job: 4, 7, 9, 15,... Probably 5 birds in the top 100 national!

Our first bird was B07-6221145. She's a descendant from "Panter(B86-6056506). Our second bird was B07-6221086. Again a child to "Luna"(B04-6058148) and grandchild to "Mitu"(B02-6058048)! Our 3rd hen was "Viola"(B07-6221074), a granddaughter to "Mitu"(B02-6058048) and "Beauty"(B05-6234009). "Viola" performed excellent this year. "Hanna"(B07-6221158) was, just like previous weeks, in the head of the race. And "Sevo"(B06-6270171) the bird that won the 26° national from Argenton this year was also there. She has very good records. Her mother is a half-sister to "Barco"(B01-6387350).

Gueret(590km) is our last (national) race of the season. Last weekend the birds Marne(296km) before this race.

Weather conditions: pretty hot and a wind from the East(so headwind).

We entered some old birds. They won 2, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18,... in the club.

Our first bird here was "Hanna"(B07-6221158). Also last week from La Souterraine(593km) she was our first old bird.

All "best" young birds were stopped after Orleans(a month ago) or after La Souterraine(last week). So they could start moulting. Now the other have to prove they're worth to be in the racing team next year.

Nevertheless we started with 16, 23, 33,... against 818 youngsters.

Our first youngster here was B08-6144181. Her mother is a full sister to "Porto"(B03-6287006). Her father is a half-brother to "Picasso"(B07-6221319).

Our second youngster was B08-6144246. And our 3rd youngster was B08-6144208, a granddaughter to "Mitu"(B02-6058048) and daughter to "Posh"(B06-6270223).

Our birds flew La Souterraine(593km) this weekend.

There was a strong wind from the West this weekend. More about this you'll read below.

We won in the strong club St. Job 1° prize from national race La Souterraine(593km) against 812 youngsters. We had also the 1° fastest bird of 1,030 birds(old + young birds). It was the young cock "Thunderbolt"(B08-6144141) who did the job. He's closely related to superbreeder "Beckham"(B01-6387174).

National we have the 47° against 21,271 birds.

But all the early birds are in the eastern side of Belgium. In the top 50 national we are the only loft that lives not in that region. We live close to the border of Oost-Vlaanderen(only 10 kilometres). If we could play there we would have won 1° + 2° + 3° + 4° against 5,116 birds. 

On the national level we might have a prize percentage of about 70% ! Just like last week from Salbris!

Our 2nd bird was beautiful hen B08-6144144. Also from Toury(382km) she was in the head of the race. She is closely related to our first bird "Thunderbolt"(B08-6144141). Her father is a half-brother to "Porto"(B03-6287006).

Our 3rd bird was B08-6144040. This hen won already 4° Marne 673 p. and 8° Noyon 341 p. (2 weeks in a row!). This hen is a full sister to "Porto"(B03-6287006).

Our 4th bird was B08-6144159. He's a direct son to magic breeding hen "Luna"(B04-6058148). He's a half-brother to top birds "Rolex"(B06-6270302) and "Favoriet"(B05-6234169). His father is grandson "Panter"(B86-6056506).

Our 5th bird, hen B08-6144164, was last week from Salbris(454km) also very early. And our 6th bird, B08-6144262, is again a full brother to "Porto"(B03-6287006).

Our result in the strong combine St. Job against 812 birds: 1, 12, 17, 21, 32, 33, 38, 47, 50, 56, 63, 68,...

We also entered some old birds. It was a preparation for Gueret(590km) on the 6th of September. On day of basketting the cocks(not the best ones, the best are stopped) were with eggs. The hens had eggs or little youngsters. We'll have 2 birds in the top 100 national. It were our 2nd and 3rd nominated. The two hens "Hanna"(B07-6221158) and "Viola"(B07-6221074). Both very good birds. B07-6221074 is a granddaughter to "Mitu"(B02-6058048) and "Beauty"(B05-6234009).

Last week, Mr. Rubin and his friends Mr. and Mrs. Wolff paid us a visit. After this he sent us this kind e-mail.

Our birds flew Salbris(454km) this weekend.

Weather circumstances: 25°C and a light breeze.

We entered young birds and a few old birds. Under the old birds we put plastic eggs. So that we can have the possibility to play them on Gueret in the beginning of September. Otherwise we would be too late for this race.

After the problems with the eyes(“one eye cold”) the birds were now sent to Salbris.

We won the 3° provincial from Salbris against 2.269 birds.We lost the 1° provincial with hardly 10 seconds! And you have to know our bird didn’t dare too land(she was frightened by something). What a pity! Luckily she still wins the first prize in famous Union Antwerpen from … This bird was top young hen "Dina"(B08-6144028). She already won the 2° prize in Union Antwerpen from Melun against 1,104 birds( 3° against 2,213 p.)! Her pedigree is fantastic. She’s a direct daughter to super breeder “Barco”(B01-6387350). She’s a full sister to top birds like “Bosko”(B03-6287052), “Chalala”(B05-6234500), “Kirby”(B06-6270317),… “Barco” is really an amazing breeder. Also on other lofts his breeding skills are fabulous!

Our 2nd bird, young hen B08-6144164, is a daughter of “Elmar”(B06-6270206) who won himself a.o. 2° provincial Gueret(586km) against 1,724 pigeons. This hen is closely related to "Panter"(B86-6056506).

From Salbris we have 55 prizes of 82 entered young birds!! What a prize percentage!!

Our very good hen “Miss Salbris”(B06-6270170) was once again in the head of the race. And you have to know that her position(just with eggs) isn’t optimal yet. You can call her a real “Salbris-specialist”.

Last week her nest-sister “Sevo”(B06-6270171) won the 26° national Argenton from 5,252 birds!

Actually the old hens weren’t ready. They just needed to fly as a preparation for the national races La Souterraine and Gueret.

Two races this weekend: Toury(382km) and national Argenton(555km).

But first something else. Our young birds had to deal during 4 weeks with the so called "one eye cold". It's a common problem amongst young birds. One eye(the left one) is "wet". So unfortunately that kept the "great form" of the young birds away. But now the problem is over and the condition can come back. A friend(Cleirbaut) had this same problem a week or 5 ago. But this weekend he played fantastically. More information about this coming soon.

Back to the races. Our young birds from Le Mans last week flew now Toury. It was a very fast race. But the birds didn't come that smoothly. Propably they had to deal with fog. We had no les than 20 pigeons in the top 50 against 772 birds beginning with 8, 10, 11, 17, 18, 25, 28, 34, 36, 43, 44, 46 ,48, 49, 50, 52, 53, 54, 54,... ! Our first bird was B08-6144144. She's a real beauty. Her father won 7° provincial last week from Le Mans. She's a granddaughter to "Deco"(B01-6387351). Our second bird was B08-6144122. She won this year a 100% prize percentage. She's a granddaughter to "Raul"(B01-6387027) and great-granddaughter to "Panter"(B86-6056506). And our 3rd bird was B08-6144192. He also won a 100% prize percentage. He's a full brother to "Renske"(B06-6270090) and "Armani"(B06-6270291).

Argenton was also very fast race. They came home faster than Toury. We didn't enter that much birds(because of the "one eye cold"). Our first bird was "Sevo"(B06-6270171). She will win the 26° national against 5,252 birds. It's a very good hen. Her best records:

2° Chateauroux(526km) 266 p.

26° National Argenton(555km) 5,252 p.

30° National La Souterraine(593km) 4,314 p.

With the young birds, we'll have about 3 birds in the top 150-200 national against 25,531 birds. B08-6144014 was again one of our first birds. This son of "Luna"(B04-6058148) and half-brother to "Rolex"(B06-6270302) and "Favoriet"(B05-6234169) is a great talent.

Some old hens and a few old cocks are now with eggs (meant for La Souterraine and Gueret). But the best old birds - like "Rolex"(B06-6270302), "Picasso"(B07-6221319) and "Callisto"(B06-6270275) - are stopped for this season. In total 15 birds are stopped. Also the 20 most "promising" young birds are stopped for this season.

Our birds from Bourges(week before Le Mans) stayed home.

We entered "fresh" young birds on this weekend races. They had no experience at all. The weather was bad this weekend: rain and once again that strong wind on the back.

On Pithiviers(373km) we entered 19 young birds and we had 12 prizes! We started with the 11° prize against 806 youngsters. This young bird lost 3 minutes! She kept flying for 3 minutes around the loft. Otherwise she would have won a much earlier prize. It was the young hen B08-6144214. This hen is a product of the "Panter"(B86-6056506) and "Picasso"(B07-6221319)-family.

The birds from Le Mans(471km) stayed in the basket for 3 days. On Sunday they were released, in very bad weather!

We had two youngsters in the head of the race. They win 14° and 20° provincial against 1,391 competitorsl. Our first bird was B08-6144202. This young hen is a direct daughter to super racer "Callisto"(B06-6270275). B08-6144202 is one of our favourites. Also from a 210km race she was early. It's a really nice checkered hen.

We entered also a few old birds on Le Mans. A blue cock B07-6221050 won the 7° provincial! He's a half-brother to "Porto"(B03-6287006). His father is "Deco"(B01-6387351) and his mother is a half-sister to "Beckham"(B01-6387174).

Past weekend there were 2 races: Marne(300km) and Bourges(479km).

Weather conditions: very, very hot and a strong wind from the North. Also thunderstorms and rain during the day.

First Marne.

Our top bird "Expresso"(B06-6270067) won the 2° prize with the old birds. He's a grandson to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).

And with the yearlings, "Picasso"(B07-6221319) was our first bird. Now he won the 8° prize. This grandson of "Barco"(B01-6387350) is really one of our best birds, especially in hard weather circumstances.

Also high prize percentages: 2 prizes from 3 entered old birds and 7 prizes from 11 yearlings.

The championships were also published. The championship went over no less than 13 races in a row!! The pigeons flew in Union Antwerpen, probably the strongest and most famous pigeon federation in the world!! 

In total we have 7 aces!!!

B07-6221192 was 9th ace-bird. Also "Kleine Prins"(B06-6221063) was ranked as 10th ace. "Kleine Prins" is a product of the "Panter"(B86-6056506) family.

And our top youngster, B08-6144092, was 6th ace-pigeon. He's a son to "Aruna"(B02-6058088) and grandson to "Luna"(B04-6058148) and "Beckham"(B01-6387174).

We are 2nd over all champion Union Antwerpen middle distance(300-450km). This is very unique, we are the only loft of the fore fly that is top ranked. We had a big disadvantage(due to the back wind of the last weeks).

From Bourges(479km) all our first pigeons were related to our super hen "Luna"(B04-6058148). Our first bird, hen B07-6221074, will probably win in top 100-120 national of 16,802 birds. This year she also won 10° s.-national Issoudun(555km) 5,815 birds this year! Her father is half-brother to "Luna"(B04-6058148). She's also a granddaughter to "Beauty"(B05-6234009) and a half-sister to "Vichy II"(B05-6234202).

Our 2nd bird was B08-6144014. He's a direct son to "Luna"(B04-6058148) and so a half-brother to "Favoriet"(B05-6234169) and "Rolex"(B06-6270302). We think he can become as good as his half-brothers in the near future.

Our 3rd bird from Bourges was B05-6234159. He is a half-brother to "Luna"(B04-6058148) and grandson to "Martina"(B99-6448145). This cock was last year one of the ace-pigeons in strong federation Union Antwerpen.

As you can see, the "Luna"(B04-6058148) - "Mitu"(B02-6058048) family are the pigeons to be beaten when the weather is difficult.

We'll have 2 youngsters in the top 200-250 national against no less than 42,058 birds!

Bourges was a very difficult flight. It was the first national race for young birds. It was very hot and the birds needed to stay in the basket during 3 days. Also there was fog and wind on the head. On the day of return multiple fanciers had only 5%-10% of their youngsters back. Luckily 23 of our 24 young birds returned!

The pigeons made almost 1,800 mpm this weekend. With such winds the fore fly (where we live) have a big disadvantage. The birds also needed to deal with a lot of rain.

We entered just 5 young birds on Pithiviers(373km). Our first nominated, top yourngster B08-6144092, won the 10° prize against 875 youngsters. Like mentioned last week, he's a son to "Aruna"(B02-6058088) and grandson to famous birds "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148).

With the old birds we won 8° and 15° prize (8 prizes from 11 birds). First two birds were B05-6234276, who is grandson "Panter"(B86-6056506) and son "Martina"(B99-6448145), and "Rolex"(B06-6270302). "Rolex" is a direct son from fantastic couple "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Luna"(B04-6058148). Last week is the last one for all the championships. We hope "Rolex" can become again(just like in 2007) 1st ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen.

With the yearlings "Picasso"(B07-6221319) was again our first bird. This grandson of "Barco"(B01-6387350) keeps confirming his talent.

From Souillac the result was not so good, and we were rather disappointed. Was it due to the rain that kept falling for hours? Was it due to the strong tailwind? We will never know...

2 new pigeons have been presented in the pigeons-section of this website: "Luna"(B04-6058148) and "Bacardi"(B03-6484744). Pictures will follow later.

Provincial Orleans(408km) was released past Saturday.

We began with 9° and 10° prize against 263 old birds. These 2 birds were "Breitling"(B06-6270259) and our super bird "Rolex"(B06-6270302). "Rolex" is a half-brother to "Beauty"(B05-6234009) and "Favoriet"(B05-6234169). Parents are "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148). "Rolex" is currently lying in pole-position to become again 1st Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen!

Against 550 yearlings we won 2, 6,... Our first yearling is also our best yearling. It was "Picasso"(B07-6221319). His mother is a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350). The bird who won the 6° prize is B07-6221251. A direct daughter to "Bacardi"(B03-6484744) and "Beauty"(B05-6234009). Also "Picasso" has a chance to be ranked as 1st Ace.

On the provincial result we will begin with the 13° against almost 10,000 birds!!

A daughter to "Vichy I"(B05-6234216) won the 15° prize. A half-sister to "Picasso"(B07-6221319) won the 16° prize. This young hen is also granddaughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350). For the moment we have a very good young cock. He's always there, wins the big money, wins early. It's B08-6144092. He's a son to "Aruna"(B02-6058088) and grandson to "Luna"(B04-6058148) and "Beckham"(B01-6387174).

In al the "disciplines" we won the big money!

From Limoges yearlings we had a prize percentage of almost 65%. But not enough early prizes.

Limoges(640km) was released past Saturday. They needed to fly in the rain. Difficult. We had a good results, and our two super birds were early. Local we won against 225 birds: 3, 10, 13, 14. 10° and 14° price were our 2 first nominated, they win the big money!

We'll begin with approximately the 100° national. We'll have about 4 birds in the top 250 national against 11,995 birds!!

Our first bird was "Bono"(B06-6270098). He already won 32° s.-national Argenton(555km) 7,353 birds! He's a son to our fantastic breeder "Barco"(B01-6387350).

Our second bird was "Dora"(B06-6270081). Last week she won 12° semi-national Argenton(555km) 3,136 birds. She flies week after week races between 450-750km, always there. She's really an amazing bird. She's a daughter to "Prince"(B02-6058324) x "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). She won this weekend her 28° prize!(on 28 entered races).

Our third bird was "Tia"(B06-6270213). She already won a 2° provincial from Salbris(454km), beaten by a loftmate(so this is an equal first as some fanciers say). Her mother is a half-sister to "Beckham"(B01-6387174).

And our fourth bird was "Favoriet"(B05-6234169). When he returned, he was all wet. He flew a good result(top 250 national probably), but he needs one very very good one, to become national ace-pigeon. In two weeks this son of "Luna"(B04-6058148) will fly Souillac(733km).

"Favoriet" and "Dora" will win on every level the big money. In the combine - Provincial - National Zone - National.

From Melun(310km) it was difficult to race. It was again a hard wind in the back(and we are the loft with the shortest distance). A youngster, B08-6144012, won the 6° prize against 1,456 birds. Her father is a brother to "Mariska"(02-00825499). Her mother is "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). So she has got the same mother as "Dora"(B06-6270081)!! Our 2nd youngster won the 22° prize against 1,456 birds. This young cock, B08-6144092, was our first nominated. He's a son to "Aruna"(B02-6058088) and grandson to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148).

Our yearlings won from Melun 7 prizes from 8 entered birds. Our old birds 2 prizes from 4 entered birds. All our good nominated were there, like "Expresso"(B06-6270067), "Rolex"(B06-6270302), "Messi"(B07-6221283), "Picasso"(B07-6221319) and "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063).

We had a race from Argenton(555km) and Pithiviers(373km).

It was difficult to race this weekend. In the beginning the birds did not made a lot of mpm. At the end they flew against a very high speed(because of a strong west wind). So the people who fly from the longest distance have a big advantage. And you have to know we race from one the most shortest distances... Another disadvantage: We live in the west, and the wind was mostly from the west. It's all part of the game you can say, but it's rather frustrating - knowing that your birds are in good condition.

But one of our best hens, "Dora"(B06-6270081), did a fantastic job. She will win the 12° semi-national from Argenton against 3,136 birds.

"Dora" is a very special bird! She's probably one of the most regularly birds of whole Belgium..

In 2007 she flew more than 7.500 kilometres!! She was 4th provincial Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen 450-750km.

In 2008 she will fly probably MORE than 8.000 kilometres!

She's always there. She never missed a price.  Won 27 prizes in 2 years(on 27 races)!  

Her pedigree is also fantastic. Her father("Prince" B02-6058324) is a direct son to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). "Iron Lady" won: 5x 1° price, 9° national Bourges 9.091 p., 27° national Bourges 10.520 p. . "Prince" is also father of "Mita": 1° Marne 1.227 p., 1° Melun 597 p., 97° national Bourges 21.940 p.,...   The mother of "Dora" is "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). She won herself 1° Dourdan, 3° Toury, 5° semi-national Vierzon,... Fantastic bird. She's on her turn mother to "Clearwater"(6° prov. Chat. 2505 p.). And, "Sherryl" is grandmother to fantastic "Vichy I"(B05-6234216) who won 1° national z. Vichy(566km) 4.298 p., 3° national Vichy 11.022 p., 57° national Bourges 12.898 p., 43° national 5.621 p.!!!

In the combine we won with the old birds: 2, 9, 13, 15, 16, 22,...

We will have(on the semi-national level) 27 prizes from 38 entered birds!

From Pithiviers, "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063) was again our first bird. Pithiviers was not a good race("gone with the wind"). Some rising stars(youngsters) came back a day later.

Our birds flew Melun(310km) this weekend.

Last week "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063) won the 1° prize, this week he wins the 2° prize against 655 birds!! His father is a full brother to "Condor"(B06-6270031). We hope he can maintain this good form.

With the old birds, "Expresso"(B06-6270067) was again early.

With the young birds, we won the 2° prize against 1,104 birds(3° against 2,213 birds). This bird was B08-6144028. She's a direct daughter to superbreeder "Barco"(B01-6387350)!!! Also from the training races B08-6144028 has been our first bird. She's definetely a bird to keep an eye on.

Our first bird from Montlucon(555km) was "Silvia"(B06-6270183). She's a granddaughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350)! Our birds won 18 prizes from 23 entered birds!

Yesterday the most important race of the year in the Netherlands, Blois, was flown.

Mr. De Ridder from Asperen won the 1° prize against no less than 66,762 birds!

The bird is for 25% a Hok Jos Vercammen bird!

The winner, "Wirramira"(NL06-5600483), is a real super bird.

As a yearling she was 1st Ace-pigeon semi-long distance!

Finally Cahors(776km) was released today. The birds needed to stay in the basket for a whole week!

Our provincial winner from Brive(707km) 2 weeks ago, "Favoriet"(B05-6234169), was entered on this race. And again, he did a fantastic job.

Provincial he will win the 7° prize.

National he will end up approximately as 78° (and +/- 20° national in zone).

Young birds flew their first middle distance race. Against 673 young birds it became: 2, 3, 4,...  and 32 prizes from 56 birds

It's almost impossible to do better.

1. Old birds

The bird that won the first prize with the old birds is "Callisto"(B06-6270275). A bird that is very "all-round". His previous race had a distance of 707km(Brive). He was entered on this race as first nominated and won the big money. As you can see in the pedigree, very close family to famous birds as "Barco"(B01-6387350) and "Porto"(B03-6287006).

The bird that won the 3° prize is "Campari"(B06-6270048). He's flying a very good season. Son to "Bacardi"(B03-6484744).

Our 3rd old bird was B06-6270152. Son to "Solo"(B04-6058005).

And our 4th old bird was our super bird "Rolex"(B06-6270302). Son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148).

And the bird that won the 8° is "Expresso"(B06-6270067).

As you can see, all the good birds were there.

2. Yearlings

The bird that won the first prize with the yearlings is "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063). He is also the 1° fastest 2,922 birds! His father is a full brother to "Condor"(B06-6270031).

Our promising yearling "Messi"(B07-6221283) won the 10° prize. Son "Bosko"(B03-6287052) x "Mariska"(02-00825499).

3. Young birds

Our first young bird(won the 2° prize) is B08-6144100. A daughter to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Siri"(B06-6411619). "Siri" is a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350). Fantastic bloodline. B08-6144100 is our favourite young bird.

The bird that won the 3° prize is B08-6144025. He's a direct son to "Porto"(B03-6287006) x "Lara"(B06-6411588). Also "Lara" is a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350).

2, 3, 7, 11, 20,... 5 prizes from the 7 entered birds

The first bird was "Kirby"(B06-6270317). She is also a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350). "Barco" is really a dominant breeder.

The old hens flew again semi-long distance, Chateauroux(526km).

Against 266 old birds they won: 2, 8, 18, 22, 28,...  6 prizes from 8 entered birds. All the good nominated were there. The 4 first nominated old birds won in top 100 provincial (1,746 birds).

The yearlings won 9 prizes from 11 entered birds. Also here the 5 first nominated.

You may wonder, why is the number of entered birds(266 p. / 301 p.)) so low? The wind has been straight on the head for 6 weeks now. Rain, hot weather, the birds needed to deal with all this circumstances. Many birds got lost, and multiple fanciers just needed to stop racing.

Our first bird won the 2° prize. It was "Sevo"(B06-6270171). She has the potential to win very early prizes. She won already a 1° prize from Noyon(208km) and the 30° national from La Souterraine(593km). She's a daughter to "Outlook"(B04-6058199) and granddaughter to "Vanessa"(B98-6350130). The nest-sister of "Sevo" is "Miss Salbris"(B06-6270170). She is every week our first nominated, and wins the big money. She has already got great racing records. She won a 1° provincial, 5° provincial, 27° national( different races),... "Miss Salbris" won this race the 22° prize, and won the big money.

Our second bird from Chateauroux was "Dora"(B06-6270081). Last year 4th Ace Union Antwerpen semi-long distance. She's a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).

We entered also a few birds on Toury(382km). "Rolex"(B06-6270302)(17° prize) and "Picasso"(B07-6221319)(27° prize) managed to fly again in first 10%. Potential aces.

Our youngsters were entered for the first time this year. Against 341 youngsters they won from Noyon(208km): 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12,...

Our first bird from this race was B08-6144085. Father is Solo(B04-6058005), 3rd Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen and mother is "Yula"(B03-6287035), daughter to "Iron Lady".

Second bird was B08-6144092. Son "Aruna"(B02-6058088) and grandson "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148). A sister of "Porto"(B03-6287006), B08-6144040, won the 8° prize.

This weekend our racing team performed excellent!

Let's start with Brive(706km). The birds needed stay in the basket for ne less than 4 days! The weather conditions were difficult: changing wind, fog, rain. All this made Brive a difficult - but honest - race.

We entered just 5 birds.

"Favoriet"(B05-6234169) won the 1° provincial Brive(707km) 1,253 pigeons!!!

He did a great job. He arrived in a very good condition, like he just flew a short distance race.

Last year we couldn't race him much. He was meant to fly national Limoges and national Souillac but because of the bird flu these races were cancelled. Too bad for "Favoriet". He received this name because he was our favourite pigeon, already from he was a young bird. He 'looks like a dynamo'.

The pedigree of "Favoriet" is filled with our famous birds. His father is grandson to basic pigeon "Panter"(B86-6056506) and son to double provincial winner "Gella"(B97-6145059). The mother of "Favoriet" is "Luna"(B04-6058148). "Luna" is a special bird. From a very difficult La Souterraine(593km) she won the 1° semi-national (4° / 6,874 pigeons)! "Luna" is - besides "Favoriet" - also mother to our best current pigeon "Rolex"(B06-6270302). "Luna" on her turn is a daughter to "Mitu"(B02-6058048), 2° provincial Brive 757 p. .

But another of our 5 entered birds flew in the very top of the race. "Elmar"(B06-6270206) won 13° provincial Brive(707km) 1,253 pigeons! He won already 2° provincial Gueret(586km) 1,724 pigeons! He's a son to "New Panter"(B05-6452528) x "Milka"(B05-6234189).

Mother to "Favoriet" and "Rolex"

Our hens flew Issoudun(504km). It was a very difficult race. 50% of the fanciers's birds was not home at the end of the day. Even now many (very good) birds are missing. Luckily 32 of our 34 birds returned(all the best ones). In the combine we began with 2, 4, 10, 13 against 546 yearlings. On the provincial leve we had 6, 14, 27, 50,... against 2,300 yearlings. Semi-national we play 10, 21, 37,... against 5,791 birds!

Our first bird was B07-6221074. She's a half-sister of "Vichy II"(B05-6234202) and granddaughter to "Beauty"(B05-6234009) and "Mitu"(B02-6058048). Second bird was B07-6221080, daughter to the couple "Bacardi"(B03-6484744) x (again!) "Beauty"(B05-6234009). And our third bird(B07-6221249) is a granddaughter to "Panter"(B86-6056506).

Our other cocks flew Toury(382km). And yes, top performer "Rolex"(B06-6270302) was again there! Now he won the 2° prize against 251 birds. This son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Luna"(B04-6058148) is an amazing bird. Last year 1st Ace Union Antwerpen keeps performing.

Something very remarkable: Our first pigeon from Brive(1° provincial 1,253 pigeons), Issoudun(10° s.-national 5,791 birds) and Toury(2° prize with "Rolex) was a grandchild to "Mitu"(B02-6058048).

It was a hard race. The birds needed to stay in the basket for no less than 4 days!

"Favoriet"(B05-6234169) was the the big winner this weekend.

He is a son to "Luna"(B04-6058148), grandson "Mitu"(B02-6058048). He's also a half-brother to our super "Rolex"(B06-6270302) who won the 2° prize this weekend.

From Issoudun(504km) we also played very well.

On the semi-national level we had 4 pigeons in top 50. We begin against 5,791 birds with 10, 21, 37,... First bird was B07-6221074. Half-sister of "Vichy II"(B05-6234202).

Every first bird on every race this weekend was a grandchild to "Mitu"(B02-6058048).

This weekend there were 2 races: Pithiviers(373km) and Bourges(479km).

But first the weather circumstances: 25° C, cloudy and a very very strong wind on the head.

It was a pleasure to see the birds arriving.

Our old birds won in Union Antwerpen against 270 old birds: 8, 9, 12, 20, 26, 31, 33, 86. We entered just 8 birds, so we score a 100% prize! The 8°, 9° and 12° prize were our 1st, 2nd and 3rd nominated!

On the overall result they won against 442 old birds: 11, 12, 16, 31,…

Our yearlings did even better. They won against 511 birds: 1, 2, 11, 31, 38,… We had 17 prizes from 26 entered birds.

On the overall result, 812 yearlings in the race: 1, 2, 23,…

In both races, with yearlings and old cocks, we won all the big money that was present.

We had the 1° + 2° fastest bird in Union Antwerpen (1,254 birds in the race).

As said our 3 first nominated old birds won 8°, 9°, 12°. It are all 3 very good and reliable birds.

"Campari”(B06-6270048) won the 8° prize. He won this year also 8° against 1,051 birds. He’s a son to “Bacardi”(B03-6484744) and grandson “Iron Lady”(B97-6145223).

“Rolex”(B06-6270302) won the 9° prize. He’s an amazing bird. He’s really always to be found in the head of the race. You might know that he is a son to “Beckham”(B01-6387174) x “Luna”(B04-6058148).

And “Expresso”(B06-6270067) was the winner of the 12° prize. For the moment he’s outstanding. This cock won the 4 first weeks of the middle distance following prizes.

Now the yearlings. B07-6221282 won the 1° prize from 812 birds. She’s also the fastest against 1,254 pigeons. And, she’s a full sister to “Expresso”(B06-6270067), our first nominated old bird!! She’s a very nice black hen. Father is brother to “Mariska”(02-00825499), mother is daughter “Iron Lady”(B97-6145223).

"Witte"(B07-6221028) was the winner of the 2° prize against 812 birds(2° fastest 1,254 p.). He’s the favourite pigeon of Ilke, the youngest member of the Vercammen team. He’s doing it very good this year. He always wins in the first 10%. He’s (again) a grandson to “Barco”(B01-6387350).

And yes, “Picasso”(B07-6221319) was again there. Now he won the 11° prize. He’s the type of pigeon we like. Always early, reliable and never tired when he returned from a race. He won 3 weeks in a row the big money in Union Antwerpen! Also he is a grandson to “Barco”(B01-6387350).

Now a little bit more about Bourges. We didn’t play many birds on this races because in the region of Bourges there were thunderstorms predicted. But our 9 old birds did it well.

They won in the combine against 428 birds: 6, 17, 25, 32,…

On the provincial level we have 6 prizes on 9 entered birds.

The bird that won the 6° prize was our first nominated and wins the big money. It was “Miss Salbris”(B06-6270170). She won already 1° provincial Salbris(454km) and more of that! She’s a grandchild to “Vanessa”(B98-6350130). Mother is a half-sister to “Barco”(B01-6387350).

Our birds flew Dourdan(366km) and a couple flew Vierzon(476km).

But first the weather from past weekend. Normally the birds flew on Saturday. But there was really to much fog and it was also rainig all day long. So the races were postponed until Sunday. A day later the weather in Belgium improved. The weather in France was even worse as the day before. All races from 200-300km were delayed. But Dourdan and Vierzon were released. So the birds needed to fly for at least 100km in the rain. No wonder, it became a very bad race. People lost birds(sometimes even their best ones). Luckily al our birds returned.

For a race where birds had to deal with heavy rainfail, our birds did well!l

We started with the 14° and 22° prize against 532 old birds. 14 prizes from 22 entered birds.

Against 907 yearlings our birds won 10, 12, 14, 17, 18, ...  30 / 47 (prize percentage)

We won (again) the big money against the old birds AND against the yearlings.

Our first old bird was "Expresso"(B06-6270067). He wins 3 weeks in a row in the top 16 in Union Antwerpen! He's a grandson to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). A full sister of him was 3rd Belgian Ace-pigeon in the famous Sun City Million Dollar Race(South Africa).

Our second old bird was "Breitling"(B06-6270259). Also grandson "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).

Our first yearling was B07-6221167. She performed well so far so good. For Bourges coming week she will be our first nominated.

Our second yearling was B06-6221134, a grandson of "Petra"(B95-6300210) and great-grandson to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).

And our third yearling was B07-6221251. She's a direct daughter to "Bacardi"(B03-6484744) x "Beauty"(B05-6234009). She's a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).

We entered just some birds on Vierzon. 5 old birds as a preparation flight for races as Brive(706km). And 3 yearlings, so that they can gain some experience. We had the 10° and 18° prize in St. Job.

And to end, again a topresult with Vercammen birds. Leon en Chris Vandenbrandt(Zandhoven) won on this Vierzon the 2° provincial against 1,314 birds(7° semi-national against 5,080 p.). This yearling is partly a Vercammen bird! Our congragulations!

Next week it's Bourges(479km) and Pithiviers(373km).

As already said, the B06-6173124 of Kris Cleirbaut won the first prize against 1,704 pigeons from Melun. This bird was also the fastest of all the 5,307 old birds of province Antwerp! This bird is a 50% Vercammen bird.

Another fancier(Jos Ielegems)had the fastest bird of the province from Melun. There were 12,425 entered! This bird was a full brother to the 50% Vercammen bird that was fastest of 5,307 birds!!

The weather conditions yesterday. Hot and a strong east-southeast wind. So wind on the head.

Our team flew again Melun(310km). We said the condition of the birds was improving week by week. And yes, the result was again better than the week before.

The birds flew in Union Antwerpen.

Our old birds started with a 8° and 15° prize against 1,051 birds. The first old bird was "Campari"(B06-6270048). He's a son to a very good breeder, "Bacardi"(B03-684744). "Bacardi" is a son to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). He's for instance father to "Belle"(B05-6234020), "Pepsi"(B05-6234021) and grandfather to "F24 Black Widow"(B07-6282339). The second old bird was "Expresso"(B06-6270067). Also last week he was in the head of the race. He is also family to "Iron Lady", he's a grandson.

Our first yearling(and also first arrival) won the 3° against 2,323 birds. It was "Messi"(B07-6221283). Also last week he was our first bird(winning the 4° against 1,169 p.). We think he has the full potential to become one of our leading pigeons! He's a son to strong racer “Bosko”(B03-6287052) x top breeding hen “Mariska”(02-00825499). These two birds do not need further presentation. On 2 races "Messi" has a racing coefficient of 0.46! Our second yearling won the 10°. It was "Picasso"(B07-6221319). Also he was last week in the head of the race. He won the big money. "Picasso" is a grandson to "Barco"(B01-6387350). Our third bird was "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063). He won the 15° prize. He was also early last week. Our 3 first yearlings are all three very promising. Being early two weeks in a row, in difficult circumstances...

We had a very high prize percentage. Yesterday, 69 birds were basketted and 50 won a prize!

To end. Our birds performed yesterday very good on other lofts.

The B06-6173124 of Kris Cleirbaut won the first prize against 1,704 pigeons from Melun. This hen will be probably the fastest bird of Antwerp. She is a 50% Vercammen bird(father is 100% Vercammen)! Also last year this hen performed very good(a.o. 10° national Bourges).

And yesterday there was also a first prize winner at the loft of the Dutch combination Roegiest-Visser. One of their birds, NL06-0741806, won the 1° against 1,500 birds, 7 minutes ahead! Provincial this bird will win 15° against 10,000 birds! Also this bird has got Vercammen blood in her veins.

Our hens will fly next week the semi-national race Vierzon(476km). Also a part of the cocks will be entered on this race.

The other part of the cocks will fly Dourdan(366km).

Past Saturday it was the first middle distance race of the season. The birds were entered for Melun(310km). The form of the birds is improving week by week!

Our old birds won 19 prizes from 28 entered birds. Result against 929 birds: 7, 8, 16, 23, 33,…

Two of our best old cocks won the 7° and 8° prize. It were B05-6234276 and “Rolex”(B06-6270302). “Rolex” won also the big money in Union Antwerpen.

B05-6234276 is a son from “Lou”(95-07348689) x “Martina”(B99-6448145). “Martina” won 8 times 1° with a.o. 1° provincial Vierzon(475km)! And besides that, she’s also a direct daughter to our basic pigeon “Panter”(B86-6056506). Also in China, children of “Martina” are having success.

“Rolex” is our very best cock. Last year he was by far the best in Union Antwerpen. So he became 1st Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen 2007! He’s a son to “Beckham”(B01-6387174) x “Luna”(B04-6058148).

Further more, the yearlings started with the 4° against 1,169 birds. We won 27 prizes from 50 entered birds. The result against 1,169 birds: 4, 25, 26, 31,… The first bird was B07-6221283. He’s a son to 2 super birds. His father is “Bosko”(B03-6287052). Excellent bird on the semi-long distance and (once again) a son to “Barco”(B01-6387350). The mother of 283/07 is “Mariska”(02-00825499). She’s a.o. mother to “Porto”(B03-6287006) and “Tibo”(B04-6058030). Our second bird was “Picasso”(B07-6221319). We think he will be our best yearling this year. He is also again a grandson to “Barco”. And our third yearling was B07-6221167. Two weeks ago she was our first bird. As you can see, “Beckham” and “Barco” keep returning every week. They are very dominant breeders in our loft.

Next week it’s again Melun.

Last Sunday our birds were again entered for Noyon(208km).

The birds came home well. We had a prize percentage from 70%. We were satisfied.

Our first bird was "Breitling"(B06-6270259). He is a son from the couple "Blue Boy"(B05-6234296) x "Cora"(B04-6058023). "Blue Boy" is a new breeder and a son to (once again) "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). "Cora" was a very good racing hen. But most of all, she is a half-sister to famous "Beckham"(B01-6387174). "Breitling" is a very consistent bird.

Our second bird was "Callisto"(B06-6270275). His father is "Lecleir"(B04-6058303), a son of that of "Vanessa"(B98-6350130). That means that "Lecleir" is a half-brother to that other super breeder, "Barco"(B01-6387350). The mother of "Callisto" is "Lydia"(B05-6234092), a full sister to "Porto"(B03-6287006). "Callisto" is a very good cock, especially on the 600km races.

Coming week the birds will fly their first middle distance race of the year, Melun(310km).

Last Sunday our birds were entered for Noyon(208km).

It was a bad race, because of the heav fog where the pigeons had to deal with. Not few fanciers lost birds. Fortunately, all our birds returned.

But we didn't have a good result.

Our first bird won the 8° prize. It was the hen B07-6221167. Her father is a full brother to super breeding hen "Mariska"(02-00825499). Her mother is "Daffy"(B02-6058079). She is mother to "Petacchi"(B03-6287157), winner against thousands of birds!

Next week the birds will fly Noyon(208km). The week after, it's the "real" start of the season.

Just as last season, we'll inform you every week about our racing results.

Past Sunday it was the first race of the season, Quievrain(100km). The pigeons came above exspactions! Because now, it's actually just training.

We won no less than 8 prizes in the 16 first! And the good birds came first. Our 3 first birds were "Rolex"(B06-6270302), "Dora"(B06-6270081) and "Casio"(B07-6221006).

"Rolex" was 1st Ace-pigeon middle distance Union Antwerpen 2007. A super bird! Every race early. Very reliable. He's a son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Luna"(B04-6058148). We don't need to present "Beckham". "Luna" won herself 1° s.national La Soutteraine(593km).

"Dora" was last year 4th Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen semi-long distance(provincial). She won always in the top 12 last year! She's a daughter from following couple: "Prince"(B02-6058324) x "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). "Prince" is a son to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223) and father to several good birds. "Sherryl" is a first prize winner and grandmother to super hen "Vichy I"(B05-6234216).

And "Casio" is the big promise of 2008. As a youngster he won already 1° Melun(310km) 704 p. ! He is also a son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174). But now with "Chalala"(B05-6234500). "Chalala" is a daughter to superbreeder "Barco"(B01-6387350). "Chalala" is also mother to our best hen 2007 "Silvia"(B06-6270183).

As you may have read, "Beckham" is father to our first bird("Rolex") and our third bird("Casio").

Furthermore, he is father to "Beauty"(B05-6234009), 2° national Argenton(555km) 21,299 pigeons(2° fastest 30,045 p.) !  No wonder "Beckham" is one of the "crown jewels" of our loft. Also in Germany, China,... children of "Beckham" have proven their great deal of potential.

Next week our racing team will go to Noyon(208km).

Too bad we lost him on a catastropic race. But one of the few youngsters we had from him became father from our famous "Deco"(B01-6387351). Who on his turn became father to "Porto"(B03-6287006)!

Did you know that Houben's well known "Pinocchio"(B98-6210287) is closely related to "Cosco" and "Deco"? The mother of "Pinocchio" is "Tiffany"(B96-3121904) and an 100% Vercammen bird! "Tiffany" is a half-sister to "Cosco".

A day or two ago, we heard some great news.

Mr. Astère van Heuverswijn(a Belgian fancier) sent me this:

Mr. Somchai Apichartpraclup won the famous “Thailand Open One Loft Race”. The price money this bird won is no less than 1 000 000 Bath. The bird was sold for 1 200 000 Bath!! (1 000 000 Bath = +/- 25 000 Euro)

The mother of this bird is a 100% Jos Vercammen bird!!(through Van Heuverswijn).

This 100% Vercammen bird has got following pedigree:

Father: son from “Aruna”(B02-6058088) x “Mercedes”(B01-6387071).

Mother: daughter from “Kleine Bugno”(B99-6448217) x "Little Vanessa”(B02-6058075).

Our breeding cock “Aruna” has already bred an incredible off spring. Also on other lofts.
