Last small middle distance race of the season

The national racing season is nearing its end, with next week marking the final race of the year from Chateauroux (526 km). Last week, we made a selection in our young birds' team. Those who had already secured their place in next year’s racing team stayed home, while the others were sent to the middle-distance race in Melun (2 nights in the basket – 310 km). Saturday offered perfect racing conditions, with beautiful weather and moderate headwinds.

We were very happy with the performance of our young birds, who achieved the following results:

Union Antwerpen West 348 youngsters: 2-5-6-10-11-13-15-…  27/49

Some of our first arrivals from Melun have finished their season, while the rest will participate one more time in the final race of the national season, Chateauroux (526km).

Meanwhile, the National Argenton (552km) race, which was postponed to Sunday, saw a significant shift in conditions, turning it into a very fast race. We entered six old hens, all of whom were nearly moulting, and this would be their final race of the season. Our first two nominated birds were also our first two arrivals, with our team kicking off the race with a 47° National Chateauroux (526km) against 1,787 birds. This bird is a promising granddaughter of “Mustang Queen” (BE19-6016108) and “Samsung” (BE15-6026082).
