Fast race and "Sugar" time

It was a very fast weekend with average speeds of almost 2,000 m/min. We decided to keep the team at home that dominated the Melun (310km) race the weekend before. Instead we sent our hens (yearlings and old birds) that are meant for the long distance races later on this year. They were sitting on eggs till last week and they flew only 1x 104km and 1x 208km before. They need to be at their best starting from June.

It did not stop “Sugar”(BE18-6020227) from flying another early prize. She was our first nominated pigeon and won 21° Melun (310km) against 2,454 pigeons.

“Sugar”(BE18-6020227) was one of the big sensations in 2020 by winning 2° National Limoges (672km) against 15,979 pigeons and 18° National Limoges (672km) against 10,319 pigeons on two consecutive races. We sent her then to the national Brive (704km) to compete for National Ace-pigeon KBDB Long Distance. Unfortunately the pigeons from Antwerp had to deal with very heavy thunderstorms on their way back home. In the evening a lot of Antwerp pigeons were still missing. She arrived at her loft in the early morning when it was still very foggy. After this race we could have stopped her and put her on the breeding loft. However, we felt that “Sugar”(BE18-6020227) had some ‘unfinished business’ and decided to race her also in the season 2021.

GO GO “SUGAR”(BE18-6020227)!
