A white bird and good decision making

We checked the weather forecast almost 100 times this week. The predicted weather for the race day was not good. After this careful consideration we decided to leave a considerable part of our racing team at home this weekend. The remaining birds flew the middle distance race Chevrainvilliers (354km). Afterwards it seems that we made the correct decision. We heard that from the national Vierzon race this weekend a lot of birds are still missing. Knowing that our birds do not love those fast races with mainly wind from the South, they did a good job on the middle distance race Chevrainvilliers (354km). They scored a very high prize percentage and 7 birds in the top 50. If this is our ‘worst’ result of the season, we will have had an amazing year!

Our pigeons won the following results:

18/05/2019 Chevrainvilliers (354km)
South Antwerp Federation 1,651 old birds: 23-25-34-36-40-41-49-52-67-79-80-92-93-…  39/47 (old birds + yearlings)

Our first arrival was the white cock B18-6020044. He is the favorite pigeon of Ilke Vercammen, the youngest member of the Vercammen team. This white bird is the most tame bird of all our racing pigeons. It’s a delight to have such a bird on your racing loft. And when he starts combining his positive spirit with early prizes, this is even better of course! B18-6020044 is a grandson to “La Bomba”(B10-6052045) and “Origi”(B13-6026050).

Our fourth arrival was “Don Diego”(B17-6025047). He was a youngster 1st Ace-pigeon South Antwerp Federation on the middle distance. His father is “Zorro”(B15-6026003), 3rd National Ace-pigeon KBDB Middle Distance. His mother is a daughter to “Elektro”(B08-6174630).

"Don Diego" was himself 1st Ace in South Antwerp and his father became 3rd Nat. Ace KBDB

Next week the national Bourges (479km) race will be flown. The weather predictions are again not so positive.
